Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA)

  • Protects the privacy of student education records. FERPA applies to all schools that receive federal funds. Explains what information you can and cannot share about a student as well as who you can and can't share certain information with.

Parking Permits and Car Trouble

  • All ECC instructors may get a parking pass for all faculty parking lots. Please call 847-214-7778 (non-emergency campus police) and they will instruct you where to go to pick up your pass.

  • ECC police and the Elgin Police Department enforce all parking regulations. ECC Police Department parking ticket amnesty program during the first month of school. Anyone receiving or currently holding an outstanding parking ticket (excluding handicap) can settle it by donating to Spartan Pantry.

  • The ECC police have a portable battery pack for vehicle jump-starts. This service is free and available by calling 847-214-7777 or ext—7777 from an on-campus phone. For lock-outs or other problems, they can phone a locksmith or garage of their choice.

 

Wireless Printing to Library Printers - Gail Borden Library

This might be a resource for some teachers to help students who don't have a printer at home. If students follow the link and instructions, they should be able to print items. However, they would need to go in person to the Gail Borden library locations, there are three of them. It appears they need to be picked up in two hours of sending the file. Streaming Service - Gail Borden Library

This is a new streaming service available to all resident Gail Borden library card holders (not reciprocal borrowers). Those instructors that have a card may want to utilize it.

Oxford Music Online

As an adjunct professor, you can get access to this music database, which includes the New Grove Dictionary of Music and Musicians. Go by the ECC Library and inquire at the Library Circulation desk, or call 847-214-7337 for details.
